TIA FORMAZIONE launches the “Consulting EUth” project to strengthen the social inclusion of young migrants and refugees.
The “Consulting EUTH” project, born from a collaboration between TIA and the University of Roma Tre and EU partners, aims at creating consultative bodies of young migrants at local and European level to address the issues of migrants and refugees.
“Consulting EUTH” is carried out in close cooperation with partner NGOs, other associations and universities from different Member States and universities (Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden)* and with European national and local public authorities, in compliance with the legislation already in place in the various Member States. The project is funded by the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and involves the active engagement of migrants and refugees in political life. This is a unique opportunity to maximise and build on the experiences of recent projects involving young migrants to further develop the capacity to create and implement policies that improve the conditions and social inclusion of migrants in the medium to long term.
How it works
The project builds on good practice research through targeted surveys conducted in each country involved. This phase focuses on the social obstacles to sustainable social inclusion.
The method used combines research, qualitative and quantitative indicators with stakeholder questionnaires, awareness-raising campaigns and targeted methodologies and training involving young people with a migration background with functional policies. The active involvement of migrants in this phase, first consultative and then decision-making, can help to strengthen in the medium to long term both their role in society and their integration into society to the benefit of the whole community in each country. These projects facilitate awareness-raising and sensitisation of Member States receiving migrants.
